Fragolino (also known as Rosolio) is an ancient, enigmatic liqueur made from tiny wild strawberries, fragolini di bosco.
In the woodland areas around the Bay of Naples in Campania, patient hands collect these delicate fruits one by one as soon as they reach full ripeness. They are then placed in the bottle to impart their sweet and distinctive flavours and since the infusion occurs directly in the bottle, it ensures the true essence of the fruit is captured.
Its gorgeous deep red tones and rich aroma and taste converge to create a refined liqueur perfect for any occasion. It is extremely versatile and its unique personality will brighten up many other ingredients. See our suggestions for a few ideas.

A delicious and invigorating liqueur made from the amazing oranges which grow in the citrus groves of the Naples/Sorrento coastal area.
The peel from these huge, succulent oranges is slowly infused in alcohol and sugar until all the natural essential oils and flavour have permeated through to produce a genuine, full-bodied fruit liqueur. Its orange fragrance is something to behold and it possesses a citrus freshness often missing from more "illustrious" orange liqueurs.
It makes a perfect aperitivo for any occasion and a lovely palate cleanser after a meal.

A totally natural, refreshing and aromatic liqueur made from wild myrtle berries by the Petrone family in Campania.
Red myrtle liqueur is a true classic from Sardinia and the Naples/Sorrento coastal area. Wild myrtle bushes thrive in these zones and produce succulent berries impossible to find anywhere else. The berries are hand-picked between November and January.
Petrone's Myrtle Liqueur is gracefully smooth and harmonious in character with a rich aroma. Read More
Another classic starter from the Licata family in Sicily. These green Nocellara olives are prepared according to timeless Sicilian artisan methods using only water and Trapani sea salt. Cracked (or crushed) olives have remained a central feature of Sicilian antipasto culture for centuries.
The olives are simply split open to allow the mild brine marinade to filter inside and penetrate the flesh. In this way they are perfectly and evenly cured to eliminate all acidity and leave a full natural olive taste without the bitterness. They are left to mature for 4 months and then sealed in these elegant jars.
|
SUGGESTIONS
On their own, they make an excellent hors d'oeuvre. Just leave a bowl of them out and they'll soon disappear.
They are delightful for aperitivi with a glass of Prosecco or bubbly.
Delicious also served with fresh bread and cheese and they make a great addition to all kinds of salads.
TIP
Remove the stones and chop the olives up then use them in tomato-based sauces. Alternatively blend them with extra-virgin olive oil (and peperoncino) and use as a dip or paste for bruschetta.
