Based in Blackburn, Lancashire and Bologna, Italy, Mediterranean Direct Ltd is one of the UK’s most established online Italian and Spanish delicatessen, offering the finest quality Italian and Spanish food online since 2007.

We specialise in sourcing, importing and distribution of high quality, artisanal Italian food & Spanish food. Our range comprises over 1000 products including 21 Great Taste Award winners and numerous international award winners. Many items can only be found at Mediterranean Direct.

Mediterranean Direct’s Italian office, led by award winning chef Umberto Carboni, has spent many years sourcing artisan producers of the finest Italian food and Spanish food from across Italy and Spain for our current range. Product selection is centred on five key criteria:

Our online delicatessen stocks over 1000 Mediterranean food products and includes numerous award winners and an extensive selection of premium organic products. Take a look at our huge range of authentic Italian Pasta and Risotto Rice, a perfect start to any Mediterranean dish!

We work very hard to balance quality with value for money. For example as well as offering a selection of Speciality Pasta we also have a wide range of value Long Pasta and Short Pasta to ensure value is delivered with every order online.

Sustainable Production

We select farmers and artisan producers who actively use integrated, environmentally sustainable methods. Our range of Italian Tomatoes is a great example of this with a selection of Classic, Sun-Dried or San-Marzano Tomatoes to choose from!

Uniqueness

The vast majority of our products can only be purchased in the UK through Mediterranean Direct. We do our best to help deliver unique Italian Food, from delicious Antipasti to traditional Panettone. Not to forget our range of Spanish Food with a selection of Spanish Tapas including delicious Olives and a Mediterranean Fish selection.

Taste

We aim to deliver an authentic taste of the Mediterranean when you order online with us! It is never easy to describe taste on a website of course, but 18 of our products have won Gold Stars at the Great Taste Awards, widely considered to be the “Oscars” of gourmet food in the UK.

    Love your website. My husband loves Razor Clams and when I saw them on here I had to buy them. He had them in Spain and fell in love with them. He is a Pescatarian and eats no meat.
