Traditional Sicilian artichokes in resting in a traditional Southern Italian seasoning of herbs, spices and oil.
Only the smallest, tastiest artichokes are selected to rest in the Licata family’s own extra-virgin olive oil which really helps to define the subtle artichoke flavours.
These artichokes are prepared following a timeless Sicilian recipe which gives them a perfect texture, not too hard, not too soft, but nice and tender, just the way we like them! See some our suggestions below on our how to use them.
|SUGGESTIONS – HOW TO USE
Artichokes are an indispensable ingredient on the Italian antipasto platter. They are delicious on their own or as part of a set of tapenades. Try them served with cured meats and they go perfectly with all kinds of cheeses from fresh and creamy to aged and potent. Chop them up with cherry tomatoes and a pinch of pepperoncino for a delicious homemade bruschetta. They will play a major part in any vegetable medley. You might try them as a main ingredient in a pasta sauce. They are divine with Carnaroli or Arborio rice in an artichoke based risotto. Wonderful too as a side to roast meats, in green salads and rice and potato salads. They also make a classy pizza topping.
