A wonderful selection of artisan Tuscan biscotti prepared by Ghiott Firenze from Florence. These delicious biscotti are presented in a lovely gift box which features 100g each of Tuscan Amaretti, special soft almond Cantuccini and almond Ricciarelli pastries.
Tuscan Amaretti:
Delicious soft Tuscan amaretti made with stone-ground rice flour, sweet and bitter almonds and stiffly whipped egg whites. They are produced following an ancient traditional Tuscan recipe.
Ghiott’s amaretti have a decidedly artisan look typical to Tuscany and are based on a 50 year old recipe by Florentine maestro Enzo Salaorni.
The quality of the ingredients is outstanding and belies such a low price tag. They provide distinct layers of taste. The initial sweet almond flavour gives way to the rich depth of stone-ground rice followed by a long bitter-sweet finale with a hint of orange.
These soft amaretti are perfect served with tea or coffee as a rewarding break or try with a glass of dessert wine after a meal.
Soft Cantuccini:
These delicious almond Cantuccini are packed straight from the over to preserve all their flavour and freshness. They are made using only the highest quality ingredients and are based on the traditional Renaissance Cantuccini recipe.
Dunk them in your tea or coffee or try them with a dessert wine, just as the Tuscans do!
Ricciarelli Pastries:
Delicious soft almond biscuits from Tuscany called Ricciarelli (pronounced Richarellee). They are presented in an attractive gift box which makes a brilliant and original gift for any occasion. Ricciarelli are not so easy to come by in the UK and that’s surprising because they are simply scrumptious! They are a traditional soft biscuit from Tuscany that have been around since the 14th Century. Leonardo himself may have been munching on these while contemplating his next masterpiece!
They are made following the ancient traditional recipe which features almonds, honey and egg white. Their diamond shape and rough surface which is concealed by a veil of icing sugar, combined with their rich and delicate taste make them a truly elegant Italian biscuit. Ricciarelli can be enjoyed at any time with tea or coffee or why not round off a meal in style with a Ricciarelli or two and a glass of dessert wine.
