The salami montanaro is an impressive mountain salami made from only the leanest cuts of quality fresh pork meat.
The meat is medium ground and has a soft texture and mild flavour which is most agreeable. Our Montanaro is prepared by artisan experts at the Salumicio Gelli near Siena in Tuscany.
The Montanaro is seasoned with ground and whole black pepper grains, a little fresh garlic and with the addition of dry white wine. It is left to mature for 50 to 60 days.
Perfect as a starter on its own or in combination with other cured meats. Serve with fresh bread, grilled vegetables in oil, cheese and pickles. Cut into medium-sized slices.
