This is a multi award winning Parmesan cheese from the mountain area around Bologna and Modena. It is the classic, versatile 24 month aged Parmesan, which is ideal for grating onto practically anything but is also excellent with baked dishes, shaving onto salads, or on its own with balsamic vinegar, especially our aged red label balsamic!
It has a fragrant and persistent aroma with the most delicious tangy, fruity/nutty taste and all the goodness common to all Parmesans (Parmigiano Reggiano DOP cheeses are full of nutrients and good for yound and old alike). This Parmigiano is is one of our signature products and you will be hard pushed to find a better one in the UK! (and if you do we would love to know about it!).
About the Producers: Caseificio Fior di Latte
Situated in the beautiful mountain area of the Parmesan DOP region surrounded by lush green meadows, the conditions are perfect for milk production. The dairy is a cooperative of over 100 small farms that produce small quantities of excellent milk destined for cheese production.
Artisan experts then transform this milk using timeless methods to produce this lovely Parmesan cheese which is only sold in 2 small local shops near the farm. This Parmesan has won many awards including 2 gold medals at the Cheese Olympics in Verona! It’s older brother, the 30 month Parmesan, has won the Double Gold Star at the Great Taste Awards, the Oscars of quality food in the UK
NB. This is an artisan cheese and is hand cut so weights may vary slightly.
