Saint Honore’ (named after the patron saint of bakers) features a soft, fragrant dough crowned with puff pastry with custard and covered with chocolate.

The combination with the honey grappa cream filling is inspired and delightful.

The Dal Colle Bakery, Verona – The Magician!

The Dal Colle family bakery is now in its 4th generation. Incredibly they use the same live mother-dough stock that was first used over 100 years ago. It was “created” by Egidio Dal Colle, who became known as the “the magician” and who won the gold medal for best Italian baker in 1925.

Since then the Dal Colle family have not only upheld the heritage left by their great grandfather, they have extended it. They have developed a new natural yeast which is now patented and used by many other master bread makers and bakers. This is the same natural leaven used in this cake.

wheat flour, eggs, sugar, chocolate cream 12.5% [glucose syrup, water, dextrose, chocolate 8% (sugar, fat-reduced cocoa 36%, cocoa butter), sunflower seed oil, skimmed milk powder, stabilizers: pectin, preservatives: potassium sorbate, salt, natural flavourings], vegetable oils of soya and rapeseed in varying proportions, glucose syrup, water, emulsifiers: mono and diglycerides of fatty acids, butter (milk), raising agents: disodium diphosphate – sodium hydrogen carbonate, skimmed milk powder, salt, natural flavourings. May contain peanuts, nuts and sesame seeds. Contains one sachet of icing sugar (Ingredients: sugar, wheat starch, natural flavourings), which is an integral part of the product.
