This delicious organic pasta, from the Montebello organic farm in Umbria, is made from a special, ancient variety of durum wheat called Senatore Capelli. It contains more vitamins, amino acids and minerals than other durum wheats and is very easily digested. Senatore Capelli pasta always maintains its shape during cooking to give delightful results. The pasta is extruded through bronze dyes to leave a rough surface which really binds sauces and is then dried slowly at low temperatures.
Penne Rigate (Grooved quills) is one of the most versatile types of pasta. It binds and holds the sauce tightly, so combines well with most tomato and cream sauces, with meat ragout, vegetables and cheese.
