This delicious organic spaghetti, from the Girolomoni-Montebello organic farm in Le Marche, is made from a special, ancient variety of durum wheat called Senatore Capelli.
It is high in protein and has more vitamins, amino acids and minerals than other durum wheats. It also maintains its shape during cooking to give delightful results. Senatore Capelli wheat is one of the oldest varieties of wheat and most modern wheats are based on it.
Spaghetti is always best with an olive oil based sauce which will keep the strands seperate. That includes pesto and many tomato and fish sauces.
THE GIROLOMONI – MONTEBELLO ORGANIC PASTA RANGE
The farm is based in a beautiful area of Le Marche and are one of Italy’s first organic farms.
The pasta is dried slowly at low temperatures to preserve all its nutrients and goodness, then drawn through bronze moulds to create a rough surface which helps to bind sauces better. It encompasses the philosophy which underpins the Girolomoni-Montebello range: genuine flavour, vitality and simplicity in all ingredients used.
