I wish more companies were as good as Mediterranean Direct. Had a little problem, which i would like to point out was down to the courier, so had to email Mediterranean's customer service. They telephoned me back on the same day and got the issue sorted, i felt like a valued customer, was dealt with with respect, no fobbing off, no excuses, none of the normal rubbish you usually get from so called customer service these days. Absolutely brilliant, 100% trusted seller who i could not recommend enough.

Mediterranean Direct are a great company offering both quality Spanish and Italian food and wine. Their artisan pasta from Naples and Puglia are great,we love the products from Fiasconara including the tangy lemon and orange marmalades not forgetting their panettone with a variety of creamy spreads....summing it up produce is fantastico both Spanish and Italian. Loved the selection of cured and deli meats - guanciale for carbonara was reasonably priced but some of the other antipasti and cheeses were frightening for the sizes. I will come back as guanciale or lardo can be difficult to source from standard grocers. I will be tempted by one of the really vintage aged cheeses when I am feeling self-indulgent - but not for carbonara - more to snack on with a nice icy dry Cava.

Pro : Easy to order, came promptly, well packed, was in good condition when it arrived. Con : You aren't told the shipping cost until the last step of placing an order. which can be annoying as you may have to set up an account to get to this stage and for a small order this can decide whether you go ahead or not. I have always found MED DIR to be an efficient and friendly firm to do business with.My last order came promptly and with no issues. I have had a couple of problems in the past more to do with delivery firms than MED but these have always been dealt with promptly.My only criticism and to be honest I don't know how to get around this is the amount of wrapping around each individual item. Obviously this is for protection in Transit but as each item is individually wrapped in paper by hand it does end up with a lot of waste paper.Still thinking about it with the current energy prices it will be useful in the winter for starting fires.

I came across this company by accident. Both my husband and I enjoy Italian food and found it sometimes difficult to get items we also spent 5 weeks on the Costa del Azahar for several years. We thoroughly enjoyed the food there and had a very special fish restaurant. Our first delivery was very quick and came on my husband's birthday. We are big salami fans and hate the way it's sold in supermarkets: a tiny quantity ready sliced with plastic packaging that's bulkier than the salami.So what could be better than buying big chunks of top quality salami from Mediterranean Direct?The big 5 litre cans of olive oil are great also. I find Med direct to be a prompt professional company to do business with. I had an issue with my last delivery not down to Med but the delivery company. I was phoned by Ryan the next day and after discussion the issue was fully resolved and my order re-sent. If I have one minor niggle it is the amount of paper used in packaging but I fully accept it is needed to protect the products during transit if I had an open fire in my property it would be a blessing not a niggle .

Only disliked the over use of non-recycleable plastic sticky tape used on packaging which would be better to use brown paper sticky tape. But that won't lose a star rating as the pasta is so good - proper length cleverly packaged dried and folded half length. Great flavour and it has to be said good value too. Nice easy to use website and the bonus of being able to use PayPal as a payment system it's all good news.

The food looks very good and the service was excellent we received the grub within five days.Today we tried out the Carretilla Paella Marinera it tasted good but the seafood was a bit lacking. My wife counted 2 prawns 1 mussel and what could have been a very baby squid tentacle in her portion. At £3.89 per portion it is reasonably priced but I would appreciate a little more seafood. Hence a star down from the maximum.

I have been shopping with Mediterranean Direct for quite some time now and they never disappoint. They also have the only gluten free pasta that actually tastes as close as it can to normal pasta (and I tried so many from extremely expensive Planet Organic that disintegrated - not all of their brands but a couple - to Sainsbury's which aren't bad) There's also great risotto and paella rice and of course plenty of other goodies savoury or sweet. Mailing list is advisable there are lots of attractive offers throughout the year. Highly recommended.

I ummed and ah'ed about getting stuff from Mediterranean direct for ages. Can't be any better than the supermarket stuff and it's a bit pricey right? Wrong. Like anything else in life you get what you pay for. Their stuff is way better than anything you'll find in a supermarket it's delivered within 2-3 days of your order going in and the service is second to none. As always everything I ordered arrived in one piece all carefully wrapped. It was a day late but I got a text to inform me it was delayed in transit. I do however wish they did not use DPD as they are the worst as usual for them they just dumped the goods outside my front door without ringing the doorbell or knocking on the door they are an appalling courier service for customer service. The 3 hampers arrived on time and beautifully made up.Mediterranean Direct contacted me the day before delivery to explain that they had been let down on their delivery of crackers (due to COVID) but they offered me alternatives which I took advantage of.Very very happy with the product and the service received. Ordered a large Tuscan Salami as the stuff you get in supermarkets weighs less than the plastic packaging it comes in. Salami lasts for months so why not buy a decent quantity? I also ordered a big can of olive oil.The order arrived very quickly (two or maybe three days after being placed). Both salami and oil are absolutely gorgeous and you certainly won't find salami of this quality at anything like the price (£2.30/100g) in the supermarkets.

Mediterranean Direct are fantastico and i strongly recommend them. I can honestly say from my experience they are a first class company selling both Spanish and Italian products at a great price. They have great offers and such a wide variety. Fiasconara products for example are one of my favourites having visited them and sampled their products in Sicily. Look out for their superb Pannettones at Christmas and to use their spreads you will not be disappointed. The Salami with fennel is worth a try. Lots and lots of tasty products. Also some great wine including Sangria for a paella. Customer service is great website easy to use. I must mention that the packaging is fantastic with every item painstakingly wrapped in paper alot of effort. With the covid19Mediterranean Direct have been a shining light and always remind me of wonderful holidays in Spain and Italy. Fantastico!! Bravo!!

I MUST STRESS ALL ARRIVED SAFELY THIS TIME All came well wrapped although I slightly question packing jars in the outer corners of the parcel. It seems quite a vulnerable position if the parcel got roughly handled. I say this because it has happened previously with this Company and a different one too. All I can say is fish sauce/soup through a parcel is not good.

Wonderful range of foods I always buy my pasta sauces from Mediterranean they are authentic and delicious superior to anything available from supermarkets. Delivered promptly and well packaged. I shall be buying lots of Christmas goodies from here with some super ideas for presents. 5 star company.

The food items I ordered are excellent. I should add anyone who does not like Olive Oil should not order any of this food. All packed in a lot of Olive Oil ....(the pates etc.)..which I do like. Very authentic Italian.

Excellent company to deal with my recent order was for some meat products and the weather decided to warm up so I was a little worried about the order it arrived securely wrapped and inside the package was a freezer chiller wrap to keep it cool delivery was easy a time slot was allocated so I didn't have to wait around first class service .
