Try it with carbonara instead of spaghetti or with a creamy ham and mushroom sauce. Fettuccine al Burro (from Alfredo di Lelio’s restaurant) is a popular dish from Rome with Parmesan cheese and butter. Variations on this theme include adding shrimp and broccoli, spicy sausage and peppers, chicken and peas.
