Quince paste Dulce de Membrillo is a lovely fruity compote which goes divinely with all kinds of cheese and desserts and also simply spread on toast.
It is made by slowly heating quince pulp over an open fire with sugar and water, which produces a thick consistency with natural fruit sweetness and zest.
This flavour profile makes it the perfect counterpart to Manchego and other aged cheeses. Amazing with a good mature cheddar, our 30 month Parmesan or some stronger soft cheeses. A must for any cheese board and cheese on toast will never be the same again!
Dulce de Membrillo is also delicious spread on toast or used as a pastry filler and in desserts.Yummy!
