Colomba is a delightfully fragrant leavened cake shaped like a dove (Colomba in Italian), the symbol of peace.
These beautifully handwrapped Colomba cakes are quite simply the best we’ve ever tasted (and we’ve tried a lot!). They all enjoy an extraordinary fragrance, lightness and a moist texture you can only experience with cakes literally fresh from the oven.
They are made by the Fiasconaro brothers in Sicily, for generations a family owned artisan bakery. The 3 brothers who run the bakery now still rigorously uphold the local artisan traditions of their father and grandfather. This is slowfood at its best – each cake taking nearly 4 days to bake!
Such quality is almost matched by its stunning and elegant presentation. It really makes a memorable gift for any occasion.

Ingredients
Soft wheat flour, butter, sugar, fresh eggs, pieces of candied pears (9%) (pear, glucose-fructose syrup, sucrose, lemon juice concentrate) chocolate drops (8%) (sugar, cocoa paste, cocoa butter, emulsifier SOY lecithin, vanilla extract) fresh egg yolk, natural yeast (contains wheat flour). Sicilian honey, inverted sugar, emulsifier: mono and diglycerides of fatty acids, Marsala, cocoa butter, powdered skimmed milk, salt, natural flavourings, vanilla berries. Covering white chocolate 9% (sugar, whole powdered milk, cocoa butter, emulsifier: Soy lecithin, natural vanilla extrace) chocolate crunchies (contains SOY, WHEAT) 2%. May contain traces of nuts.
