Delicious whole chillies (pepperoncino) from Sicily resting in a marinade of local herbs and spices.
Sicily is renowned for its hot chillies which find their perfect natural habitat on the island and feature in many of the local dishes. In fact, pepperoncino is a staple of Mediterranean cuisine and is most commonly used to intensify the taste of other ingredients.
The Licata family select the chillies at their perfect ripeness and marinade them immediately to lock-in all that just-picked freshness. They will certainly spice up thousands of dishes, but have such quality they lend a subtle fresh chilli flavour too.
HOW TO USE – SUGGESTIONS
These chillies are mainly added to any starter or main course that needs a touch of arabbiata. Great with pasta and risotto sauces or with many Asian and Mexican dishes too. Keep them whole or chop them up depending on the dish. Hard-core chilli fans will eat them straight from the jar!

My son and daughter in law have these as a food cupboard staple. With 2 young children, they can add chilli to their food as and when they want it. It doesn’t have a raw chilli taste either

  2. Steven Docker (verified owner)

I was sceptical whether some chillies imported from Italy would warrant the price tag however these are bursting with flavour. If these aren’t Calabrian chile peppers then they sure are close, feels like I’m eating ‘nduja without the pork.

  3. Callum Steeley

These peppers have a nice mild flavour, great texture and bright color. They are easy to use in so many recipes, as well as great to add to sandwiches and wraps. A favourite with the family.

  4. Andrew McKennon

Tastes great on everything. Definitely worth the buy!
