Black olive paté has forged its place as a central feature of Mediterranean cuisine and nowadays there are (too) many different versions available from Spain, France, Italy and Greece. Some are very good, but many are poor quality and it’s not always easy to differentiate. So why choose this one?

Well, a good starting point is the combination of outstanding natural ingredients and adroit artisan preparation. Black Nocellara olives from Sicily are expertly cured until they reach their maximum flavour potential. They are then blended with extra-virgin olive oil from the producer’s own estate together with other traditional ingredients.

The paté is perfectly natural, free of artificial colouring, preservatives and flavourings.

Its bright, vital flavours rouse the palate as it imparts a genuine freshness rarely found in other black olive paté. Its luscious consistency and dark elegance won’t go unnoticed either.

HOW TO USE – SUGGESTIONS

Spread it over bruschetta, crostini, toast, fresh bread or focaccia for a classic antipasto.

Lovely as a dip on its own (extend with a little EVOO).

It is a perfect addition to salads – try it with tuna salad!

Makes the perfect base for rich pasta sauces and risottos..

Spread over (or rub into) meats and fish before cooking to heighten flavours or use it as a sneaky side dish for all kinds of main courses and vegetables.

Adds interest to other dips.

Wonderful on baked potatoes.

Makes a great, refined base spread for sandwiches.

TIPS

Best served at room temperature, so take out of fridge an hour before serving.

Can be extended with a good EVOO.

Combines marvellously with a glass of white wine or even sherry.

STORAGE

Long shelf product. Once opened keep refrigerated and consume within 1 month.
